At Urban Ecohomes, we specialise in building high-quality, energy-efficient homes designed for better performance, comfort and long-term sustainability.

Initial Consultation
It starts with a conversation. We discuss your property or land, what you're hoping to achieve, how you want to live, your priorities, aspirations, budget and timescale, and explain what to expect from Urban.

Survey & Brief
Where required, a measured survey is completed. Together we develop a clear brief covering your requirements, priorities and aspirations.

Concept Design
Our design team develops initial concepts, considering layouts, appearance, flow, natural light, construction requirements and budget until we arrive at the right solution.

Planning
Once the preferred concept is agreed, we prepare and coordinate the planning information, submission and relevant consultant input.

Technical Design
Building Regulations information, structural engineering, construction details and specialist designs are coordinated. For high-performance homes this includes insulation, airtightness, thermal bridging, ventilation and renewable technologies.

Detailed Costing
With the design properly developed, we produce a detailed cost analysis and clearly defined scope of works. The more we decide before construction, the greater the certainty during construction.

Contract & Programme
Before work starts, the scope, contract price and construction programme are agreed. Both parties know what's included, what it will cost and how the build is intended to progress.

Interior Design & Selections
We support the client through kitchens, bathrooms, flooring, lighting, finishes, colours and fixtures, planning selections alongside the construction programme.

Build Phase & Project Management
The construction team delivers the project under dedicated project management. Detailed programmes coordinate trades, materials and specialists, with progress and communication supported through Fonn.

Completion & Aftercare
The home undergoes detailed inspection and quality control. Certificates, warranties and documentation are collated before handover, and our support continues afterwards.

Antony Hyder
Managing Director & Project Lead

Antony leads Urban Eco Homes and takes overall responsibility for the delivery of our projects. From the initial client conversations and pre-construction planning through to programme, procurement and construction, he remains closely involved throughout the entire build. With extensive hands-on experience in residential construction, Antony brings together clients, designers, consultants, suppliers and our site teams to ensure each project is properly planned, coordinated and delivered. His focus is on finding practical solutions, maintaining high standards and giving clients a clear and well-managed journey from concept to completion.
Emma Hyder
Accounts Director & Project Manager
Emma manages the financial and administrative side of Urban Eco Homes while also supporting the day-to-day management of our projects. She oversees accounts, project finances, supplier and subcontractor administration and many of the behind-the-scenes processes that keep our projects organised. Working closely with Antony and the site teams, Emma plays an important role in ensuring projects remain commercially controlled, well coordinated and efficiently managed.
Allison Noble
Administration

Allison has been part of Urban for over 12 years and is one of the longest-standing members of the team. Providing essential administrative support across the business, Allison helps coordinate the paperwork, information and day-to-day organisation required to keep both the office and our construction projects running smoothly. Her experience with the company and knowledge of how we operate make her an invaluable part of the team.
Darren Lake
Working Site Manager – New Build Projects
Darren has worked with Urban for over 10 years and oversees the on-site delivery of our new build projects. A highly experienced multi-trade professional, Darren specialises in groundworks and first-fix carpentry and brings a wealth of practical construction knowledge to every project. As a working Site Manager, he combines hands-on involvement with coordinating trades, maintaining quality and driving the build programme forward. His broad understanding of the complete construction process makes him particularly well suited to managing complex new-build homes from the groundworks through to completion.
John Poulter
Working Site Manager – ICF & Structural Projects
John has been part of the Urban team for over seven years and leads the delivery of our structural and ICF structural shell projects. Specialising in structural concrete works, Insulated Concrete Formwork (ICF) and mid-floor joisting systems, John has developed extensive experience in the construction of modern, high-performance, low-energy building structures. As a working Site Manager, he combines specialist technical knowledge with hands-on construction experience, overseeing the critical structural stages of our projects and ensuring they are delivered accurately and to the high standards required for low-energy and high-performance homes.
Luke Wise
Working Site Manager – Extensions & Renovations
Luke has worked with Urban for three years and oversees our extension, renovation and interior fit-out projects. Specialising in high-quality interior works and finishing, Luke brings a strong eye for detail to the later stages of construction. His experience is particularly valuable on projects where new construction needs to integrate seamlessly with an existing home. As a working Site Manager, Luke coordinates trades while remaining actively involved on site, helping ensure the quality of the finished project reflects the standard expected throughout the build.
Jimmy Ratcliffe
Multi-Trade Operative

Jimmy is a skilled multi-trade member of our site team who has been with Urban for nearly a year. Working across different stages of our projects, his broad range of practical skills allows him to support the Site Managers and specialist trades wherever required. His versatility makes him an important part of the hands-on team responsible for turning our designs and construction details into finished homes.
Jaiden Lewis-Hayes
Site Operative

Jaiden supports our Site Managers and trades across our construction projects, assisting with the wide range of activities required to keep our sites organised, productive and progressing. Working alongside our experienced team also gives Jaiden the opportunity to continually develop his practical construction knowledge and skills across the different stages of residential building.
Adam Dare
Renewables & Low-Energy Consultant – Eco Renewables
Adam works in close partnership with Urban Eco Homes through his own specialist company, Eco Renewables. Although not directly employed by Urban, we consider Adam an integral part of our extended project team. Adam provides specialist design, consultancy and installation expertise across renewable heating and low-energy building systems. Working with our team from the design stage onwards, he helps develop the energy strategy for our projects, including technologies such as air-source heat pumps, underfloor heating, ventilation, solar and other renewable and energy-efficient systems. His involvement is particularly important on our low-energy and Passivhaus-led projects, helping us consider the building fabric, heating, ventilation and renewable technologies as one coordinated system rather than separate elements. Together, our team combines hands-on construction experience, specialist technical knowledge, trusted trades and professional project management to provide a genuinely joined-up approach to building exceptional homes.

Price Guarantee - A fixed price that won't budge.
Before construction begins, we develop the design, specification and scope of works in sufficient detail to understand what we're building and what it should cost. Once everything is agreed, we provide a clearly defined contract price. If the agreed scope doesn't change, neither does our price.* Legitimate changes can include client changes, genuinely unforeseen conditions, statutory requirements or design changes after the contract price is established. Where a change is required, we'll explain it clearly and provide the cost implications before proceeding wherever reasonably possible. No surprises. No hidden extras. No moving goalposts.
Completion Date Guarantee - A date you can plan your life around.
Before construction begins, we produce a detailed construction programme and agree a contractual completion date. We then actively manage the project against that programme. If we're responsible for missing your guaranteed completion date, we'll pay you.* The guarantee would not apply to qualifying matters outside our reasonable control, including agreed variations, delayed client decisions or selections, exceptional weather, statutory authorities, utility providers or other events identified within the building contract. Your completion date isn't an aspiration. It's a commitment.
Quality Guarantee - Our zero-defect handover commitment.
Quality is managed throughout the build. Our team continually reviews workmanship as construction progresses, allowing issues to be identified and corrected before they're covered by the next stage. Before handover, the property undergoes a comprehensive completion inspection. Our objective: 100% defect-free at handover.*
Communication Guarantee - You'll never be left in the dark.
From the beginning of construction, we'll establish how and when project communication takes place. Through Fonn, clients can access key project information including progress photographs, drawings, documents, queries, decisions, selections and updates. If something doesn't go according to plan, we'll tell you - then we'll tell you what we're going to do about it. No problems. Only solutions.

Behind our core team is an established network of experienced subcontractors, specialist trades and professional consultants who work alongside Urban Eco Homes to deliver every element of our projects.
Over the years, we have built strong working relationships with trusted electricians, plumbers, heating engineers, carpenters, bricklayers, plasterers, tilers, decorators and specialist finishing trades, many of whom have worked with us across numerous projects.
Our extended team also includes structural engineers, specialist groundwork contractors, piling contractors and other technical specialists, allowing us to bring the right expertise into a project whenever it is required.
These are not simply trades brought together for individual jobs. Wherever possible, we work with established subcontractors who understand the standards we expect, the way we manage our projects and the level of workmanship our clients demand.
As the main contractor, Urban Eco Homes coordinates and manages this complete team.
This gives our clients a single point of responsibility while allowing us to draw upon a much wider pool of specialist knowledge and experience throughout the build. From specialist foundations and structural construction through to mechanical and electrical installations, plastering, tiling, carpentry and final finishes, every trade works as part of one coordinated project team.
